HOW TO FIND PROGRAMMERS IN UKRAINE IN 2022

We would like to start the article with an answer to a rather complex and at the same time simple question: "Why are Ukrainian programmers so valuable to Western companies?». Without a doubt, educational background plays an integral role in choosing an employee, but most business owners beyond Ukraine put high esteem upon virtues, such as diligence, constant learning, courtesy, professional accuracy, etc. Most of these qualities are inherent in Ukrainians and this is becoming one of the main advantages in the foreign labor market such USA, Canada, and the European Union.

The similarity in mentality and way of life between Ukrainians and Europeans also helps foreign business owners to establish a common denominator with Ukrainians and build sophisticated and long-lasting offshore development teams in Ukraine. And innate communication skills make Ukrainian developers excellent leaders and excellent team workers.

Also, Ukrainian programmers have gained professional appreciation due to one of the best price-quality ratios in the IT market in Europe. It is because of all these advantages that Ukrainians have become welcomed workers in many Western companies around the world and the rising proportion of new American, and European companies are looking for a programmer in Ukraine. And finding and recruiting a good developer is not an easy task for even an experienced product owner, so before you try to arrange the best employee for your business, it is best to choose the method by which you will search for him or her. 

Each of us, in most cases, turns to acquaintances or friends, if we need something, but it frequently works well in business. The fact is that in business the accuracy and special qualities of each employee are more important than the usual recommendations of people not related to your business. This can bring you down from the right course; take a person who will not correspond to your expectations, as well as the loss of precious time, in order to look for another employee in the braid of ends. 

This method is probably the most unreliable of all because it does not give any guarantees that the candidate you hire for your startup or dedicated project will correspond to your demands. Above all, such passive requests from the outside can lead not only to an unsuccessful choice of an employee but also to the separation of friendship or quarrels. "To learn from an acquaintance" as a way to search has long been outdated, but nevertheless, periodically, entrepreneurs are still mistaken to choose it. 

Of course, such a practice of hiring tech specialists in Ukraine is one of the easiest to implement but is absolutely not recommended for use, due to the above problems that this method can cause.

For many years, freelancing has filled the niche of finding IT developers and is still a proven method to choose. Within the variety of freelancing sites, you can find a thousand candidates ready to work with you, but as with every single method, freelancing has its own nuances.

During the pandemic of COVID, many programmers went freelance to adapt to the circumstances and increase earnings, and currently, freelance sites are full of people who want to work, but is this a good way to find a permanent employee in the company? In fact, not, even with regarding all the pros: cheapness and ease of searching for workers, freelance is suitable as a one-time service and has many pitfalls for business owners.

In IT, the human factor is crucial, since the work is often carried out remotely, a person may simply be unfair or not to do work within time, which will pull many other problems in your project. Given all of the above, freelance is a rather unreliable method of searching for dedicated candidates, and also certainly not suitable for those who want to create a powerful dedicated development team in Ukraine for their business. It is more suitable for some one-time orders or when the company cares about the cost of work more than its quality.

In 2022, there are several proven practices to search for candidates, but it still remains a difficult task for businessmen. After all, the success of your business directly depends on who you work with - with a new employee, you can either take off to a completely new level or fail with losses.

All of the listed methods have both pros and cons, but some are outdated and as time goes on, simply retire from the IT stage, and the product owners who are trying to use them constantly remain at a loss. For the business owner, the most important thing will be to determine what exactly he wants to get from his new employee in Ukraine and how exactly the recruiting and hiring would be performed.
