About the Company

Our client is a San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup helping organizations secure and manage sensitive data. Their AI-powered platform discovers, classifies, and protects sensitive data across cloud applications, infrastructure, endpoints, and AI tools.

About the Product

The company has built one of the first AI-native Data Loss Prevention (DLP) platforms, protecting sensitive information across SaaS applications, cloud environments, endpoints, and AI tools. Their macOS and Windows endpoint products are already well established, and they are now expanding their Linux platform.

About the Role

Our client is building a new Linux Endpoint DLP solution and is looking for a Linux Endpoint Engineer to join the team.

You will work closely with senior engineers and collaborate with the existing macOS and Windows teams to build a production-grade Linux endpoint agent. This is an opportunity to work on low-level Linux development, endpoint security, and modern cybersecurity technologies while contributing to a brand-new product.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Linux endpoint components and system-level software.

  • Develop Linux agents responsible for monitoring and protecting sensitive data.

  • Work on kernel-space and user-space components.

  • Implement features related to file system, process, and network monitoring.

  • Collaborate with macOS and Windows engineering teams to deliver consistent endpoint functionality.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system-level issues.

  • Participate in feature design, implementation, testing, and documentation.

  • Support multiple enterprise Linux distributions.

Requirements

  • Strong C/C++ development experience on Linux.

  • 2–4 years of commercial Linux kernel development experience.

  • 2–4 years of commercial experience developing cybersecurity products such as XDR, EDR, EPP, MDR, DLP, Antivirus, or similar.

  • Experience working in Linux kernel space (file systems, processes, or networking).

  • Experience developing Linux system-level software or endpoint agents.

  • Good understanding of Linux internals.

  • Experience supporting multiple Linux distributions.

  • Startup mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with eBPF.

  • Experience with Linux Security Modules (LSM).

  • Experience with fanotify, inotify, or Netlink.

  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Go programming experience.

  • Experience with DLP or endpoint security products.

What We Offer

  • Long-term remote opportunity.

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • International engineering team.

  • Opportunity to work on a brand-new Linux platform.

  • Career growth and continuous learning.
