Role Description:

 

We are seeking an experienced Camera Vision Embedded Engineer to take part in design, development and maintenance of embedded software solutions for the company’s product range consisting of UAVs, in-house design imaging systems and video communication equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with camera hardware, image processing pipelines, computer vision algorithms, and resource-constrained embedded systems.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Riga, Latvia.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Embedded firmware development for Linux-based SoC and microcontrollers.

  • Linux kernel driver development.

  • Bring-up and implementation of new sensor ICs.

  • Support for existing applications and firmware maintenance.

  • Design and develop embedded vision systems using cameras, image sensors, and edge computing platforms.

  • Implement and optimize computer vision algorithms for real-time performance.

 

Required skills:

 

  • 3+ years of work experience with Linux.

  • 3+ years of work experience with Embedded Systems.

  • C language, bash scripts, make and other common embedded languages.

  • Experience developing real-time image tracking and target tracking systems.

  • Experience with automatic object detection, classification, and tracking in video streams.

  • 8/32bit microcontrollers (ARM, AVR, Microchip, etc.).

  • Knowledge of basic microcontrollers communication protocols: I2C, SPI, USB, CAN.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge of robotics, autonomous systems, drones, industrial automation, or smart devices.

  • Upper-Intermediate level of English.

  • Willingness to relocate to Riga, Latvia and work full-time from the office (hybrid may be possible after the probation period).

  • Ability to pass a government security clearance, which is mandatory for all final candidates.

  • Eligibility to work in Europe is highly preferred (e.g., EU citizenship or a valid work permit/Blue Card). The company can sponsor work authorization for Ukrainian citizens.

  • Understanding and acceptance of the defense-related environment.

  • Interest in long-term relocation rather than short-term contract work.

 

Would be considered as advantage:

 

  • Experience with OpenWrt - kernel and application sides.

  • Practical experience in high frequency device development (amplifiers, mixers, receivers, etc.).

  • Deeper understanding of IEEE 802.11 and experience with other communication protocols.

  • Electronic device development: schematics, PCB routing, etc.

  • Understanding of radio frequency device specifics.
