Software Application Architect
About the Company
Our client is an innovative deep-tech company developing cognitive airborne remote sensing systems for dual-use UAVs. The company builds lightweight, energy-efficient, and affordable airborne radar solutions that provide enhanced situational awareness both in the air and on the ground.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Application Architect to take full ownership of the architectural design and evolution of the client's flagship mission application running on the Ground Control Station (GCS). This application serves as the primary Human-Machine Interface (HMI) used by mission operators to control the radar, manage missions, and visualize complex sensor data.
Key Responsibilities
-
Architectural Leadership: Design the frontend and backend architecture for the Ground Control Station application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and seamless integration with onboard radar APIs.
-
Sensor Data Fusion: Build robust frameworks to ingest, synchronize, and overlay multi-sensor data streams, including radar imagery, telemetry, target tracks, and optical feeds, onto geographic maps in real time.
-
Map & Data Visualization: Optimize the rendering of high-volume geographic and tactical data, including large GeoTIFF imagery, target tracks, and coherent change detection (CCD) maps.
-
Security & Access Control: Implement secure role-based access controls, user authentication workflows, and reliable communication protocols between the Ground Control Station and the airborne radar payload.
-
Technical Leadership: Mentor the engineering team, establish clean coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure software stability in demanding operational environments.
What We Are Looking For
-
5+ years of experience as a Software Architect, Principal Engineer, or in a similar technical leadership role, with a proven track record of delivering complex desktop or web-based applications.
-
Strong proficiency with modern frontend and backend technologies suitable for high-performance map rendering and real-time data streaming, such as C++, Python, Rust, Go, or modern TypeScript frameworks.
-
A pragmatic, hands-on mindset with the ability to solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced deep-tech startup environment.
Nice to Have
-
Experience with drone application software, Ground Control Stations (GCS), GIS and mapping frameworks (such as QGIS, ArcGIS APIs, OpenLayers, or Cesium), or radar/payload control software.
-
Familiarity with defense or aviation data exchange standards (such as STANAG) or similar real-time streaming protocols.
What We Offer
-
Opportunity to build mission-critical airborne systems.
-
Work on cutting-edge aerospace and deep-tech R&D projects.
-
Participate in in-flight testing and platform integration.
-
Competitive compensation.
